Departmental Overview
Mining and Metallurgical Engineering are indispensible activities in supplying materials to any industrialized nation. The Department of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering at Dalhousie offers two Programs:
Mining Engineering, and
Metallurgical Engineering.
Both curricula are designed to provide fundamental knowledge of basic engineering and extensive coverage of the respective fields, which themselves are very broad. The later portions of each program lead to applications of fundamental principles to specific designs. The Department is also affiliated with the
Minerals Engineering Center which provides mineral processing services, consultation and pilot plant scale testing to the minerals industry. For more information please check the
